Spring Assembly of Christ

About Us
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them" Matthew 18:20
About Us

Who we are by the grace of God

We are an assembly of scripturally baptized (by immersion, Matt. 3:16) believers in Jesus Christ who gather together in His name with Christ as our Head (Matt. 18:20; Col. 1:18), being of the same mind doctrinally (Amos 3:3).

We were once members of an assembly (church) that was used greatly by the Lord under the leadership of a God-called pastor who was in the ministry over 60 years. When our aged pastor was no longer able to oversee the flock, grievous wolves that had entered in did not spare the flock (Matt. 7:15; Acts 20:29; Jude 4) and compromise was found among leading men in the assembly (1Tim. 4:1; 2Tim. 4:3-4). And because she did not repent the Lord judged her and removed the candlestick (Rev. 2:1-5) and scattered the flock.

We have not forsaken the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25) but have continued to meet for the reading of Scripture (1Tim. 4:13), prayer, singing hymns (Eph. 5:19) and to hear the preaching of the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27).

Although we are heirs (James 2:5) we are not currently reigning with Jesus Christ in His kingdom (1Cor. 4:8). This is the time for suffering and trials for the faith once delivered unto the saints (1Peter 1:6-8; 2Tim. 2:12; 2Thess. 1:5). The doctrine of the second coming of Jesus Christ and a future kingdom is a purifying hope in the lives of the elect (1Jn. 3:2-3). And although this teaching is mocked by many in the last days the elect are not ashamed of this Biblical truth (2Peter 3:3-7; 1John 2:28). By making our calling and election sure the entrance for us shall be richly provided into the eternal kingdom (2Pet. 1:10-11).

We believe as there was a great departure from the law and the prophets by the religious leaders of the Jews prior to the first advent of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 23), there has been a falling away (apostasy) by the religious leaders of the assemblies (churches) in this age. The Apostle Paul warned of this apostasy which had begun during his lifetime (Acts 20:28-30) and it has progressively gotten worse down through the centuries as prophesied in Scripture (1Tim. 4:1; 2Tim. 3:1-5).

There is a diminishing spirituality (2Tim. 4:3) taking place in many local assemblies in these last days prior to the return of Jesus Christ to resurrect the dead in Him and to secretly catch up those of us who are alive and remain (1Thess. 4:15-17; John 14:1-3; Heb. 11:5). For as it was in the days of Noah, the elect who make up the assembly of this age shall be spared from the Great Tribulation that shall come upon the world of the ungodly and the man of sin (the antichrist) who is to be revealed (Matt.24:37-38; Heb. 11:7; 1Pet. 3:20; 2Pet. 2:5; 2Thess. 2:3-4).

After the Great Tribulation we shall return (to the earth) with Jesus Christ and every eye shall see Him as He comes with ten thousands of His saints (Jude 1:14). It will be at this time that we shall inherit the kingdom prepared for us from the foundation of the world (Matt.25:34).

Finally, we are seeking to continue steadfast in the doctrine and practice that has been delivered unto us knowing from whom we have received it. (1Thess. 4:1; 2Thess. 2:15; 2Tim. 1:13; 2Tim. 3:14). We desire to grow in spiritual knowledge and discernment (Phil. 1:9). We have a testimony to bear (Phil. 1:10) and a work to do for the Lord (2Cor. 4:1; Col. 3:17; Gal. 6:9). We are encouraging and building up one another knowing the importance of a sound mind grounded in the truth of the Scriptures (1Thess. 5:11). We know that the end of all things as we know it is at hand therefore we are to be sober, watchful and in prayer (1Pet. 4:7).
